ECHO Bird

Back in February I got a really exciting commission request. Andreka from The Adarna, a local band here in Seattle, asked me to make her a necklace for their upcoming video shoot for the song ECHO. I knew right away that this would be a challenging, yet rewarding and fun project. So of course I said yes!

The idea for the necklace came from the video for "Magnets" by Disclosure featuring Lorde. In the very beginning of the video, Lorde wears this amazing bird necklace. After seeing it and hearing the plan description of the ECHO video, I knew designing a glass bird for it would be perfect.

Picking the glass for any project is always really fun. There's so many colors and textures. For THIS project I chose this particular glass mainly for the texture. It had lines that went perfectly with the contour of the wings. And the color ended up being pretty perfect, too. I was going for a dark look, but it also has this iridescent aspect to it that really pops when the light hits it.

It was so exciting to see one of my creations come to life.
